Layer Length Calculator — Cutting Guide Lengths
Calculate cutting guide lengths for uniform and graduated layered haircuts.
Longest length at bottom
Shortest layer at crown
Number of guide sections
How We Calculate This
This calculator divides the total length difference between the shortest and longest layers evenly (uniform) or progressively (graduated) across the specified number of guide sections.
The formula
Uniform: Drop per layer = (Overall length - Shortest layer) / (Number of layers - 1)
Graduated: Each subsequent drop is proportionally larger than the previous
